Church Family,
One of our greatest joys is our meeting together. It is such a special blessing to gather in the same place and to share so much of our lives with each other. We fully understand the encouragement found in Hebrews 10, as we all rely on the blessings that are experienced as members of our church family.
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Unfortunately, the current environment has precluded much of our opportunities to meet together. The most recent recommendation from our government and health care officials is for gatherings to be limited to 10 or fewer people, in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19.
As such, the elders and deacons of Faith Church are confirming that all church sanctioned gatherings will halt effective immediately until further notice. This includes Sunday mornings (Sunday School, Sunday Worship Services), Mid-Week / Wednesday Gatherings (adult Bible study, youth group), Bible studies for Men / Women / Young Adult, and special events (Men’s breakfast, Women’s retreat).
Please stay in contact with the members of your various groups and with people throughout the church in general. Check in regularly and maintain as much fellowship as you can.
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
We are in the midst of a trying season, but one that offers tremendous occasions to continue living out many aspects of the early church found in Acts 2. There are numerous avenues for Biblical teaching and encouragement; prayer is never restricted by time or location; while not physically meeting, we are still united in Christ, having His free gift of salvation in common; we all have daily opportunities to support each other and show the love of Jesus to our communities.
What an awesome opportunity to praise God! We know that He will be glorified in all things! We are fully expectant that He will use these difficult times and our church family to reach those around us with His mercy and grace.
If you have questions or needs, please call the church at (810) 735-9339 or reach out to one of the Overseers, Pastors, or deacons. We are praying for you - stay close to God, His Word and each other.
In Christ,
Pastor Daniel
